Busy Woman's Roast Chicken
|Stove top dressing||6 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Water||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Sauterne wine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Carrots||12 , peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces|
|Roasting chicken||5 Pound|
Prepare dressing according to package directions with 1 1/4 cups water.
Set aside to cool.
When cool, stir in sauterne.
Meanwhile, in saucepan, cook carrots in small amount of water for 5 minutes.
Drain and place in slow-cooking pot.
Rinse and dry.
chicken; stuff with dressing.
Place on top of carrots in slow-cooking pot.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cover pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until chicken is tender.
If a browner chicken is preferred, place in baking pan in 400° oven for about 15 minutes.
Slice chicken; serve with carrots.
Makes 6 to 7 servings.
