|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chickens||4 Pound (Disjointed)|
|Onion||1 Large, sliced|
|Tomato juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sherry||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Heat butter in large skillet; brown chicken well on all sides.
Transfer chicken to baking dish.
Saute onion in skillet drippings; stir in 1 cup water, tomato juice, sherry, paprika, salt and pepper.
Mix well; bring to a boil.
Pour over chicken.
Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes, turning chicken several times.
