Five Spice Chicken
|Hoisin sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Bottled)|
|Five spice powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Orange juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Roasted chicken||2 Pound (1 Whole, Purchased Warm Deli)|
|Ramen noodles||6 Ounce (2 Packages, 3 Ounce Each)|
|Red chili peppers||1 , sliced (Fresh)|
1. In a small bowl stir together the hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, and enough orange juice (1 to 2 tablespoons) to thin mixture for brushing. Brush about half of the mixture over entire chicken. Place chicken on a rack in a shallow roasting pan.
2. Bake the warm chicken, uncovered, in a 400° oven for 15 to 18 minutes or till heated through and glazed. Stir 1 to 2 tablespoons additional orange juice into remaining hoisin mixture till easy to drizzle. Place in a small saucepan; heat through.
3. Remove seasoning packet from ramen noodles; discard or reserve for another use. Cook and drain noodles according to package directions.
4. To serve, carve the chicken. Arrange some of the chicken slices and ramen noodles on each dinner plate. Spoon half of the sauce over the chicken; pass the remaining sauce. If desired, garnish each serving with chili peppers. If desired, serve with pea pods and orange slices.
