Braised Chicken Or Turkey Gizzards
|Chicken gizzards/Turkey gizzard||1 Pound|
|Onions||2 Large, sliced|
|Sliced mushrooms||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Tamari soy sauce||2 Tablespoon|
|Sliced bamboo shoots||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Remove any fat from gizzards and scrape tough skin from the inside surface.
Cut into slivers.
Heat oil in wok or heavy skillet and stir-fry the onions and mushrooms for approximately 1 minute.
Add ginger and slivered gizzards and stir-fry on high heat for 2 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium, add sherry, soy sauce and salt.
Stir for several seconds.
Add bamboo shoots, honey and water.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
