Mom's Homemade Chicken
|Chicken parts||2 1⁄2 Pound|
|Celery stalks||3 , cut in 1 inch pieces|
|Bay leaves||2 , crushed|
|Peppercorns/Pepper to taste||2 Teaspoon|
|Onion||1 , sliced|
|Hot water||8 Cup (128 tbs)|
|Carrots||2 , shredded to make 1 cup|
|Fine egg noodles||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Set Power Select at HIGH.
In 5-quart casserole dish, combine chicken, celery, bay leaves, pepper, onion and water.
Heat, covered, 10 minutes.
Set Power Select at MEDIUM-LOW.
Heat 35 to 37 minutes or until chicken is tender.
Strain broth into 3-quart casserole dish; add carrots, noodles and salt.
Heat, covered, 7 to 8 minutes at MEDIUM-LOW.
Meanwhile, remove chicken from bone.
Add chicken to soup and let stand, covered, 7 to 8 minutes or until noodles are tender.
