Chicken Manchurian

In a hurry? This delicious easy to make Chicken Manchurian recipe is just right for you. You can lay out a delectable Chinese meal with this Chicken Manchurian and a fried rice or noodle that can be done in minutes.
  Boneless chicken pieces 250 Gram, cut into bite size pieces
  Green onions 2 , chopped
  Celery 1 , chopped
  Bell pepper To Taste, cut into cubes
  Onions 1 , sliced
  Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
  Ketchup 4 Tablespoon
  Vinegar 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
  All purpose flour 4 Tablespoon
  Chopped garlic 2 Tablespoon
  Cooking oil 30 Milliliter
  Chicken stock 2 Cup (32 tbs)

Marinate the chicken in all purpose flour, cornflour, salt and a pinch of pepper. Deep fry the chicken pieces and keep aside.

For the gravy:
Take a pan and add 2 tbsp of oil to it. Add the chopped garlic, onions, bell pepper , green onions and stir for a minute or two. Add the celery and stir. Add in the soy sauce, ketchup, sugar, salt and stir. Add the chicken stock and bring to boil. Adjust the seasoning. Add the fried chicken pieces and boil for a minute. Mix 1 tbsp of cornflour in water and add to the gravy. Boil for a minute till the gravy thickens. Serve with Chinese fried rice or hakka noodles.

I love Chinese food and so do my hubby and daughter. This Chinese chicken Manchurian recipe is one that I make very often at home. I like to pair it with a chicken hakka noodle or fried rice, some soy sauce and chilli in vinegar and my lip-smacking meal is ready.

Thanks snigdha. I am sure you will love it. Everybody at my place loves chinese so i make the manchurian and hakka noodles often. The noodles are also a fun way to get my daughter to eat vegetables.

can u follow this recepie by using beef strips instead of chicken?

As far as I know Chicken Manchurian is an indo-chinese fusion recipe. Although I have not tried the same with beef, I think there shouldn't be any harm experimenting. However, as you may know, this will definitely increase the cooking time (as cooking beef takes a little longer than chicken) and it will also affect the flavor of the dish.
