Oven Barbecued Chicken

  Chicken 3 Pound, cut into serving pieces (1 Chicken, 2 1/2 To 3 Pound)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Water 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Ketchup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Light brown sugar/White sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Cider vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Dijon mustard 1 Tablespoon (Prepared Spicy Brown Mustard)
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Crushed dried red pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in a 13"x9"x2" baking dish. Season with the salt and black pepper.
2. In a small bowl, mix the water, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, and the dried red pepper if used. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
3. Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes. Tip the baking dish and skim the fat from the sauce. Serve with Glorious Mashed Potatoes, or buttered noodles, and a green vegetable, such as Dry-Sauteed Broccoli.
