Apple Spiced Chicken Broil
|Broiler fryer chicken||3 Pound, quartered|
|Cooking oil||4 Tablespoon|
|Apple jelly||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Ground allspice||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Preheat and get the broiler ready
Break joints of chicken.
Brush chicken with oil; season with salt and pepper.
Place, skin side down, in broiler pan (rack optional ).
Broil 5 to 6 inches from heat till lightly browned, about 20 minutes.
Turn; broil till tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan melt jelly over low heat.
Stir in lemon juice and allspice.
Brush chicken with half of the glaze; broil 1 to 2 minutes more.
Remove chicken to serving platter; brush with remaining glaze.
