Gala Fruited Chicken

|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cayenne pepper||1 Dash|
|Vegetable oil||3 Tablespoon|
|Canned crushed pineapple in juice||8 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Golden raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange juice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Dry white wine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Ground allspice||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|California oranges||2 , sectioned|
|Toasted slivered almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1 Rub chicken pieces with a mixture of paprika, salt, pepper and cayenne. Brown in oil on all sides in a large skillet or an electric slow cooker with a browning unit.
2 Combine chicken pieces with crushed pineapple, raisins, orange juice, wine, cinnamon and allspice in slow cooker; cover cooker.
3 Cook on low (190° to 200°) 8 hours, or on high (290° to 300°) 4 hours, or until chicken is tender.
4 Lay orange sections over chicken and sprinkle with almonds; cook 15 minutes longer, just to heat through.
