Ask any fried chicken lover what he or she would love in a fried chicken and they would simply say the crispier and crunchier, the better! It is certainly not a million dollar question to ask how to make extra crispy chicken. Making extra crispy chicken is not a rocket science. Neither is it an art connoisseur, it simply follows a simple process and few extra ingredients.

Tips To Make Extra Crispy Chicken

Preparing Extra Crispy Chicken

Let us start with the chicken itself. The chicken needs to be cut into pieces of desired size. Make sure that the pieces aren’t too small since they may break while frying. Remove the skin if you are calorie conscious. The ingredients required include MSG (Monosodium Glutamate found in spices section of stores), cooking oil, eggs, milk, all purpose flour, salt and pepper. First of all we need to marinade the chicken. It is a simple process that would just take 30 minutes or so. Put water, salt and MSG for the marinade in a large sized bowl. Then add chicken pieces and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Turn the chicken a couple times as it marinates so that the spices get mixed with it. Next, combine the beaten egg and the milk in medium sized bowl. Take another bowl and mix the remaining coating ingredients flour, salt, pepper and MSG. While the chicken is marinating, preheat cooking oil in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees. Be generous enough with the quantity of the oil, neither too much nor too less.

Once the chicken is marinated (make sure excess liquid is drained off) take once piece at a time and coat it with the flour mixture. Then dip it in the milk and egg mixture, turn it a couple of times and coat it again with the flour mixture. The chicken should be well coated so that you get the crispiness. After all, extra crispiness is what we desire. Right! Once done, drop the chicken, one piece at a time into hot oil. Do not put too many pieces in one go.  It will take about 10 to 12 minutes for the chicken to get golden brown. Remove all of the chicken pieces to a paper towel to drain off excess oil.

Wait for around five minutes before serving. Your mouth watering extra crispy chicken can be served with cold vegetable salad. Enjoy a chickenlicious meal!
