Cold Chicken Livers

Ingredients
  Chicken livers 1 Pound
  Irish whiskey 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Butter 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
  Pepper 1
  Cloves 6
  Mace 2
Directions

Put the livers into a buttered small pie dish with all the other ingredients.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
Stand it in a pan of water and bake in a moderate oven (350°) for three quarters hour.
Chill before serving with thin toast.
This is far nicer than it sounds.
And the livers, except for the top layer, have a rosy pink hue.
