Red Stewed Chicken With Mushroom

It does not take much time to make this Red Stewed Chicken. With this Red Stewed Chicken recipe, chicken will be on my menu far more often. Enjoy!
Ingredients
  Chicken 4 Pound (1 Whole)
  Water 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Fresh mushrooms 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Bamboo shoots 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Water chestnuts 6
  Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1 Dash
Directions

1. Wipe chicken with a damp cloth; then, with a cleaver, chop, bones and all, in 2-inch sections. Place in a heavy saucepan.
2. Boil water and pour over chicken. Bring to a boil again; then simmer, covered, 30 minutes.
3. Meanwhile slice mushrooms, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Add to chicken, along with soy sauce, salt and pepper; and simmer, covered, 30 minutes more.
