Chicken Stifado

Ingredients
  Chicken 1 , cut into serving pieces
  Oil/Butter 4 Tablespoon
  Onions 3 , grated
  Canned tomato paste 6 Ounce (1 Can)
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Mixed spices To Taste
  Bay leaves 4
  Whole white onions 4
  Kefalotiri/Romano cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs), cubed
Directions

Brown chicken in oil or butter.
Add onions and tomato paste with enough water to cover.
Add mixed spices and bay leaves tied in a cloth bag.
Remove chicken when cooked.
Add whole white onions and hard cheese to sauce remaining in kettle and cook until tender.
Cheese may be fried in oil first before being added to sauce.
Add chicken, heat, and serve.
