Herb Fried Chicken
|Flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Dried thyme||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dried marjoram||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Celery salt||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Frying chicken||1 , cut up|
|Vegetable shortening||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
In paper or plastic bag, combine flour, salt, thyme, marjoram, celery salt, and pepper.
Add chicken pieces, a few at a time; shake to coat.
Preheat vegetable shortening in electric skillet to 360° , or use medium high heat of range.
Fry chicken for 30 to 40 minutes, uncovered, without lowering heat.
Turn the chicken pieces 4 to 5 times during frying for even browning.
