Chestnuts with coffee cream is a cooked dessert served with coffee cream. The chestnuts are cooked with sugar and water. Chilled and served in sherbet glasses, I love this dessert for the slight crunch to it. delicious and refreshing, the chestnuts with coffee cream are very good on summer days or evenings.
Slit shells of chestnuts.
Simmer chestnuts, in water to cover, 5 minutes.
While the chestnuts are still hot, discard shells and skins.
Put nuts into boiling water with brown sugar and cook 30 minutes, or until tender.
Drain and chill.
To serve, pile chestnuts into sherbet glasses.
Spoon coffee Cream over them.
