Jellied Cherries

Ingredients
  Cherry gelatin 1 Ounce (1 Package)
  Hot water 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (Or Boiling)
  Sweet cherries/Drained canned royal anne cherries 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Granulated sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Lemon juice 6 Tablespoon
Directions

Dissolve the gelatin dessert in the hot or boiling Water depending upon the manufacturer's directions.
Chill until slightly thickened.
Meanwhile pit the cherries, add sugar and lemon juice (amount depends on tartness of cherries), and let stand until syrupy.
Combine with the gelatin mixture and chill until set, stirring occasionally to keep the fruit well distributed.
Serve in sherbet glasses, with or without whipped cream.
