Ingredients
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1 Dash
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Pitted dark sweet cherries 1 Pound
  Brandy 4 Tablespoon
  Vanilla ice cream 1 Pint
Directions

Combine sugar, salt, cornstarch, and water.
Add cherries; cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Pour brandy over top, ignite, and spoon immediately over ice cream.
