Cherry Refrigerator Cookies
|Butter||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 3⁄4 Cup (44 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cherries||1 Cup (16 tbs), candied|
|Nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy: add eggs and beat well.
Combine dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
Add cherries and nuts.
Shape into rolls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Wrap in waxed paper or heavy-duty aluminum foil and store overnight in refrigerator.
Slice about 1/4 inch thick.
Place about 1 Inch apart on greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes or until delicately browned
