Cherry Chuckles

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 4 1⁄2 Cup (72 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 3 , beaten
  Lemon peel 2 Teaspoon, grated
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
  Nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped
  Cherries 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
Directions

Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add flour to creamed mixture gradually, mixing well.
Add lemon peel, juice, nuts and cherries.
Mix thoroughly.
Form into rolls, 2 inches in diameter.
Wrap in waxed paper or heavy-duty aluminum foil and chill until firm.
Cut into slices about 1/4 inch thick.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.
