Black Cherry Dessert
|Black cherries||1 Quart|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sugar free cherry gelatin||3 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Chopped blanched almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Non dairy whipped topping||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (Prepared)|
Pit black cherries.
Combine cherries and water in a saucepan.
Cook over low heat until cherries are just tender.
Drain thoroughly, reserving liquid.
Measure liquid and add enough water to make 2 cup (500 mL).
Heat liquid to boiling.
Remove from heat; then stir in gelatin.
Stir to dissolve.
Chill until mixture is the consistency of egg whites.
Then fold in cooked cherries and almonds.
Transfer to dessert dishes, mold, or serving dish.
Chill until firm.
Decorate with nondairy whipped topping before serving.
