Potato And Cheese Bake

Ingredients
  Sliced potatoes 2 1⁄4 Pound (Medium Sized)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Fresh breadcrumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Grated cheddar cheese 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
Directions

Put the potatoes in a dish with 2 cups (450 ml/3/4 pint) of water.
Microwave on HIGH for 6 minutes.
Leave to stand for 5 minutes and drain.
Butter a shallow dish and sprinkle with half the bread crumbs, salt and pepper.
Arrange the potato slices over lapping in layers, sprinkling each layer with half the cheese and salt and pepper.
Mix together the remaining breadcrumbs and cheese and spoon evenly over the potatoes.
Dot the butter on the top.
Cook on HIGH for 10 minutes, leave to stand for 5 minutes.
Test with a skewer and if the potaoes seem too firm, cook for a further 5 minutes.
Brown under a hot broiler or grill for a few minutes .
