Beurek With Shrimp And Cheese
|Shrimp||3⁄4 Pound, cooked and deveined|
|Mexican white cheese/Mozzarella cheese||1 Pound, grated|
|Green onions||2 , chopped|
|Parsley||2 Tablespoon, minced|
|Melted butter||2 Tablespoon|
|Garlic powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Filo dough||1 Pound|
|Clarified butter||1⁄2 Pound|
Combine all the filling ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
Divide the filo dough in half.
Cover one part with a towel to prevent drying out while you work with the other half.
Cut the other half lengthwise into four strips.
Then cut across to make squares.
Use one square for each beurek.
Brush the top with melted butter.
Place about a tablespoon of filling into the center of each square.
Bring the corners up to the center, envelope-fashion.
Brush the tops with butter.
Arrange on lightly greased baking sheets.
Repeat with the remaining dough until all the dough and filling are used.
Bake at 350 degrees for twenty-five minutes, or until the beureks are golden brown.
