Cream Cheese Pastry
|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Plain cream cheese||4 Ounce|
Sift together flour and salt.
With pastry blender or 2 knives cut in butter or margarine and cheese.
When well blended, wrap in waxed paper, and chill until firm.
Roll to 1/8-inch thickness, and cut according to desired use.
Bake at 450 °F for 12 minutes.
Note: This pastry can be used as the base for Apple-Crumble Pie, as small tart shells, for turnovers filled with jelly, or plain in dainty rounds, diamonds and strips served warm with a soup or salad course.
