Healthy Breakfast Casserole
|Skim milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sliced mushrooms||2 Cup (32 tbs), uncooked|
|Owens lean sausage||1 Pound|
|Wheat bread slice||8|
|Green onions||3 , chopped|
|Canned green chilies||3⁄4 Can (7.5 oz), chopped (1 small can)|
|Minced garlic||2 Tablespoon|
|Grated cheese||32 Ounce (2 bags, 2% or part-skim Cheddar)|
Preheat oven to 350. Butter a 9x13 pan.
In pan, brown sausage, onion, garlic, and green chilies. Drain off grease. Cut bread long ways and layer the pan with bread, then sausage, then mushrooms, then cheese. do this 2 times
Mix eggs and milk until yolks are mixed and pour over the top of the casserole.
*This is best if you make it the night before and let it soak in the fridge over night.
Bake for 45 minutes covered. Uncover and bake for another 15-20 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving
