Farmhouse Cheese Straws
|Chicken stock cube||1|
|Cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs), grated|
|Parmesan cheese||50 Gram, grated|
|Cold water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1.Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.
2.In a bowl, sift flour, salt and pepper.
3.Put small pieces of butter in it and crumbled stock cube.
4.Rub with the fingertips to make the mixture similar to breadcrumbs.
5.Put cheeses and egg yolk along with cold water to the mixture and prepare a firm dough.
6.Turn out the dough on a floured surface to thickness of 1/4 inches.
7.Cut the edges to give a neater look.
8.Make straws of width 1/4inch and length of 2 1/2 inches.
9.Use the trimmings to make 6-8 circles of 3 inch diameter.
10.Hollow the center of 2inch from each round.
11.On the baking sheet, put the straws and bake at 200 degrees C for 15 minutes.
12.Once done, allow to cool for 15 minutes.
13.Thread the straws through the ring and serve.
The straws can be frozen by putting on the baking sheet.The sheet can be placed in a jar and kept.Heating can be done as instructed.
