Freezer Cheese Sticks
|White sandwich bread loaf||1 Pound, unsliced|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Pound, softened (1/2 Cup)|
|Pasteurized processed cheese spread||5 Ounce (1 Jar, Sharp, At Room Temperature)|
Place bread in freezer until frozen solid.
Trim crusts from frozen bread with a long, sharp knife.
Slice bread horizontally into 3 equal layers; cut each layer crosswise into 3/4-inch strips.
Lightly beat egg white, add butter and cheese spread and beat until well blended and smooth.
Spread on all sides of bread sticks.
Place about 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets, cover with clear plastic film, and freeze until firm (at least 3 hours).
Bake frozen sticks in a 325° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Serve piping hot.
