Spicy Chili Cheese
|Paneer||1⁄2 Pound (Homemade Indian Cottage Cheese)|
|Garam masala||1 Teaspoon|
|Coriander powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Red chili powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Granulated sugar||1 Teaspoon|
|Tomato ketchup||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Preferably Heinz Brand)|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Red onion||1 , thinly sliced|
|Roma tomato||1 , thinly sliced|
|Green chili||1 , thinly sliced|
|Green bell pepper||1 , thinly sliced|
|Red bell pepper||1 , thinly sliced|
|Asian hot sauce||1 Tablespoon|
|Chili garlic sauce||1 Teaspoon (Garlic Hot Sauce, Asian Style)|
|Olive oil||2 Tablespoon|
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Once heated, add asafetida, green chili, onions and salt. Saute this until the onions are slightly tender. Now add the bell peppers to this and saute for 4-5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, black pepper and cover the saucepan with the lid. Turn the heat down to medium low and let this cook for 5 minutes. Now add the ketchup, siracha sauce and chili garlic sauce. Place the lid back and let it simmer for 5 minutes. You will see that a thick sauce is formed. Now add the sugar and mix this together. Now add the cubes of Paneer and gently mix it in to the sauce. Cover this with the lid and let it cook for another couple of minutes. Paneer is now ready to be served. I like to add half of the coriander leaves and mix it before serving and add the rest as a garnish.
