Baked Cheese Fondue
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs), scalded|
|Soft stale bread crumbs||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sharp american cheddar cheese||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), shredded|
|Eggs||4 , separated|
Pour hot milk over the bread crumbs.
Stir in cheese, salt, and cayenne.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Beat egg yolks and stir into milk mixture.
Fold in stiffly beaten whites.
Pour into greased 2-quart casserole.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for 35 to 40 minutes.
