White Wine Cheese Fondue
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), finely chopped|
|Dry white wine||1⁄3 Pint (3/4 Cup, 200 Milliliter)|
|Gruyere cheese||8 Ounce, finely grated (2 Cups, 225 Gram)|
|Cornstarch||2 Tablespoon (Cornflour)|
|Brandy||30 Milliliter (2 Tablespoon)|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
Put garlic and wine in a bowl and cook for 2 minutes.
Add cheese. Cook for 4 minutes, stirring 3 times, until cheese has melted.
Mix together cornflour (cornstarch), brandy, pepper and nutmeg. Stir into cheese. Cook for 4 minutes.
Serve with French bread cut into bite-sized pieces and accompany with a crisp salad. Provide each guest with a fondue fork or kebab stick for spearing the bread.
