  Rye bread slices 16 (Thin Ones, Ice Box Type)
  Creamed butter 2 Tablespoon
  Firm tomatoes 2
  Salt To Taste
  Mayonnaise 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Finely chopped chives 2 Tablespoon
  Sharp yellow cheese cubes 16

Toast bread and spread with butter.
Cut tomatoes into thin slices and place a slice on each piece of toast.
Season with salt.
Spread a portion of mayonnaise combined with the chives on the tomato, leaving a rim of tomato showing on edge.
Garnish center with a cube of cheese.
