Chocolate Fondue Dessert
|Milk chocolate blocks||6 Ounce (6 Squares)|
|Semi-sweet chocolate||4 Ounce (1 Bar)|
|Vanilla ice cream||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Liqueur/Sweet wine||3 Tablespoon (Any Flavor)|
|Fresh fruit||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chilled (Strawberries, Bananas, Pineapple, Pears, Grapes, Oranges)|
Fondue may be prepared in a fondue pot, heavy saucepan or double boiler.
Break chocolate into small pieces.
Melt chocolate with ice cream and liqueur, stirring constantly for a smooth sauce.
Or microwave all ingredients on Medium 3-4 minutes, stirring 3 times.
Cool sauce slightly before serving.
If sauce is too hot, chocolate will run off fruit.
Makes about 1 cup sauce.
This dessert may be prepared in advance and kept warm in a double boiler.
At dessert time, serve a bowl of chocolate fondue surrounded by chilled fresh fruit.
Guests use forks to dip fruit.
Children may like to dip pretzels or large marshmallows.
Leftover fondue may be used for a sauce over ice cream; thin with milk or cream to desired consistency.
