Ingredients
  Egg yolks 8
  Grated gruyere cheese 1⁄2 Pound (2 Cups)
  Grated nutmeg To Taste
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Butter 4 Ounce (1 Cup)
  Double heavy cream 1⁄4 Pint
Directions

Beat the egg yolks and put into the fondue pot with the cheese, nutmeg and pepper and salt to taste.
When the cheese has melted, add the butter a little at a time and stirring continuously over gentle heat.
When the mixture thickens, add the cream.
