Fried Cheddar Cubes

Ingredients
  Cheddar 10 Ounce, cut into 3/4 inch cubes
  Cornstarch 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Egg 1 Large, beaten lightly
  Fine fresh bread crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vegetable oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying Cubes)
  Applesauce 3 Tablespoon (As Accompaniment)
Directions

Dredge the Cheddar cubes in batches in the cornstarch, shaking off the excess, coat them thoroughly in the egg, and dredge them in the bread crumbs, patting and pressing the crumbs to help them adhere.
