Three Cheese Strata

Ingredients
  Fresh mushrooms/1 can, 4 ounces sliced mushrooms, drained 4 Ounce, sliced
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Marjoram 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter 3 Tablespoon, divided
  Day old bread slices 6
  Shredded cheddar cheese 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Shredded swiss cheese 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Grated parmesan cheese 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Dry mustard 1 Teaspoon
  Eggs 6 , lightly beaten
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

In medium frying pan, cook mushrooms, onion, and marjoram in 1 tablespoon butter until tender.
Spread remaining butter over 1 side of each bread slice.
Cut bread in 1/2 inch cubes.
Arrange half of the cubes over bottom of four to six 10- to 12-ounce custard cups or ramekins.
Top each with mushroom mixture.
Thoroughly combine cheeses with dry mustard and sprinkle over mushroom mixture in each dish.
Top with remaining bread cubes.
Blend together remaining ingredients and pour over bread mixtures in each dish.
Cover.
Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Uncover dishes and bake in preheated 350°F. oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
