Cheese And Onion Bake
|Onions||2 Medium, cut into rings|
|Finely chopped mushrooms||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Brown breadcrumbs||2 Cup (32 tbs) (Fresh)|
|Finely grated cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Eggs||3 Large, beaten|
|Dried dill||1 Teaspoon|
|Paprika pepper||To Taste|
1 Put the butter in the base of a 30 x 20 x 5cm/ 12x8x2 inch ovenproof glass dish and microwave on full power for 1 minute.
2 Stir in the onions. Microwave on full power for 2 minutes. Stir in the mushrooms and set aside.
3 Place the milk in a I litre/1 3/4 pint (4 1/4 cup) jug and microwave on full power for 6 minutes.
4 Place the breadcrumbs, cheese and salt and pepper in a 1.75 litre/3 pint (7 1/2 cup) mixing bowl. Pour over hot milk and stir well. Stir in the eggs and dill.
5 Pour onto the onions and mushrooms, and microwave, uncovered, on power 7 for 13 minutes. Give the dish a half turn, twice, during cooking.
6 Sprinkle with paprika and garnish with tomato slices and parsley if using. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
