|Canned sardines in oil||5 Ounce (1 Small Can)|
|Prepared mustard||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Buttered toast slice||4|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Cheddar cheese||2 Ounce, grated|
|Margarine/Butter||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Breadcrumbs||1 1⁄4 Tablespoon|
Mash the sardines very well and season.
Mix the oil from the tin of sardines with the breadcrumbs, seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and cheese.
If there is not sufficient oil to give a soft mixture then add a little margarine or butter and cream well.
Spread the mashed sardines on the slices of toast and cover with the crumb mixture.
Put under a hot grill for a few minutes until crisp and golden brown.
Garnish with a small piece of tomato and serve hot or cold.
If serving hot the fingers can be prepared earlier and just heated in oven.
