Rolled Oats Mix
This rolled oats mix is high in fibre and low in fat and filled with the natural goodness of whole grains. Thorw this mix together and store it for a healthy oat bake recipe for cake, muffins or cookies.
|All purpose flour||4 Cup (64 tbs) (1 Liter)|
|Quick cooking oats||4 Cup (64 tbs) (1 Liter, Not Instant)|
|Dry non fat milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (375 Ml)|
|Double acting baking powder||4 Tablespoon (60 Ml)|
|Salt||1 Tablespoon (15 Ml)|
|Solid vegetable shortening||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (375 Ml)|
In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, milk, baking powder and salt.
With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Store in an airtight container and keep in a cool, dry place.
Makes about 10 cups (2.5 L).
