Buttered Cauliflower

The buttered cauliflower is a cooked cauliflower recipe flavored with bay leaf and nutmeg. A one vegetable dish, the buttered caulifower is seasoned to taste and can be served as a lovely and simple side to a meal.
Ingredients
  Cauliflower 1 Small
  Bay leaf 1
  Freshly grated nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Butter 1 Ounce
  Freshly ground black pepper To Taste
Directions

Wash the cauliflower, cut off the hard stalk at the base and any tough outer leaves.
Place the cauliflower upright in a pan with 1 inch of boiling salted water.
Add the bay leaf and grate generously with nutmeg all over the top.
Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until the cauliflower is cooked but still firm (test this with a skewer).
Drain well and melt the butter over the top.
Season with pepper.
