Lamb meat, mostly from the shoulder is sautÃ©ed along with onions and other spices in a casserole and then cooked in it along with stock and other vegetables. The casserole is put in a pre heated oven or over gas flame if it is fire proof. The dish usually takes about an hour or two to cook; it is then served directly in the casserole. Mixed herbs, garlic, chili, etc are the flavors used to cook lamb casserole.
