Chicken Casserole With White Wine
|Chicken||1 (In Frying Pieces)|
|Seasoned flour||1 Tablespoon|
|Onion||1 Small, finely chopped|
|Canned tomatoes||14 Ounce (Undrained)|
|White wine||1⁄4 Pint|
|Bay leaf||1 Small|
|Sugar||1 Teaspoon (Leveled)|
|Mushrooms||1⁄4 Pound, sauteed|
Coat chicken with flour; brown quickly in hot butter.
Place chicken in large saucepan.
Add onion to hot butter.
Fry gently until softened and browned.
Add to chicken with tomatoes, white wine, seasonings and sugar.
Cover; simmer gently for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until chicken is tender.
About 5 minutes before chicken is tender remove bay leaf.
Add sauteed mushrooms.
Serve with boiled spaghetti or baked potato.
