Frankfurter Cheese Casserole
Cook 3/4 cup macaroni in boiling salted water till tender, about 8 minutes; drain well.
Cook 1/3 cup fresh or frozen chopped onion and 1/3 cup fresh or frozen chopped green pepper in 2 tablespoons butter till tender.
Blend in 3 tablespoons all purpose flour and 1 teaspoon each Worcestershire sauce and prepared mustard.
Add 1 cup milk.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Stir in macaroni, 1 1/2 cups cream style cottage cheese, and 6 frankfurters, thinly sliced.
Turn into 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Cover; refrigerate up to 24 hours.
Toss 1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons butter, melted.
Bake casserole, covered, at 350Â° for 40 minutes, gently stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle crumbs on top.
Bake, uncovered, till heated through, about 10 minutes more.
Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
