Hearty Beef Casserole
|Stewing beef/Beef chuck||2 Pound, cut in 2 inch squares|
|Burgundy/Red dinner wine||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Canned condensed consomme||21 Ounce|
|Onions||2 Medium, sliced|
|Fine dry bread crumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sifted|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Combine beef, wine, consomme, salt, pepper and onions in casserole.
Mix crumbs with flour and stir into meat; cover.
Bake in 300-degree oven about 3 hours or until beef is tender.
Serve over fluffy white rice, if desired.
