Cheesy Ham and Potato Casserole
|Chopped onion||2 Tablespoon|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|All-purpose flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dry mustard||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Cheddar cheese||8 Ounce, shredded to make 2 cups, divided|
|Cubed cooked ham||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Cubed cooked potatoes||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
1)In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter till it is tender.
2)Then add flour and seasonings, stirring until smooth.
3)Cook for a minute, stirring constantly.
4)Slowly add milk and cook over medium heat, stir till it is thick and bubbly.
5)Further add 1 1/2 cups cheese, and let it melt.
6)Once it has got melted add ham and potatoes, into it and toss it gently.
7)Spoon the mixture into a greased 2-quart shallow baking dish.
8)Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 25 minutes.
9)Remove the dish and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
10)Bake it again for more 5 minutes.
11)Serve it hot.
