Lamb Chop Casserole

Ingredients
  Lamb chops 30 Ounce (6 Chops, 5 Ounce Each, Cut From Leg)
  Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Chopped lean ham 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Raw Variety)
  Onion 1 Medium, chopped
  Tomatoes 4 Medium, peeled and chopped
  Nutmeg 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Mace 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Allspice 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Brown lamb chops in olive oil and butter.
When well browned, turn into earthenware casserole.
Cook chopped ham in fat left in pan.
Add onion over low heat.
Stir frequently until mixture just begins to take on color.
Stir in tomatoes.
Season highly with salt, pepper, nutmeg, mace, thyme and allspice.
Cook over low heat 10 minutes.
Stir occasionally.
Pour sauce over chops.
Cover tightly.
Bake in moderate (375) oven 35 minutes.
Serve with buttered noodles.
