Beef Sausage Casserole

Ingredients
  Vegetable shortening 1⁄2 Ounce
  Onions 2 , peeled
  Onions 2 , peeled, sliced
  Sausages 8 Ounce
  Mushrooms 4 Ounce, trimmed
  Mushrooms 4 Ounce, trimmed, sliced
  Gravy thickening powder 1 Teaspoon
  Flour 1 Tablespoon (Leveled)
  Water 1⁄2 Pint
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

MAKING
1. In a pan, heat the fat and sauté the onions on medium flame for about 8 minutes.
2. Add the sausages and mushrooms. Cook and prepare the gravy.
3. In basin or a small cup, mix together gravy thickening powder and the flour with cold water. Prepare thin paste and remaining water.
4. Add the beef sausage and bring to the boil.
5. Cover the lid and simmer for 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

SERVING
6. Serve hot with mashed potato.
