Zippy Squash Casserole

Ingredients
  Yellow squash 5 Large
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon, softened
  Shredded cheddar cheese 4 Ounce
  Onion 1 Medium, chopped
  Celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Bacon slices 3 , cooked, drained, and crumbled
  Pimiento 2 Ounce, diced (1 Jar)
  Green chiles 1 Tablespoon, chopped
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Garlic salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Breadcrumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon, melted
Directions

GETTING READY
1)Wash squash in running water and cut the ends.
2)In a pot, boil squash in salt water.Cook unitl tender and drain.
3)Mash the cooked squash.

MAKING
4)In a bowl, combine butter, Cheddar cheese, onion, celery, pimiento, green chilies, salt, pepper and garlic salt.
5)Add mashed squash to this mixture and blend well.
6)Into a 1 ½ quart greased casserole, spoon the squash mixture.
7)Mix together breadcrumbs and butter and spread over squash mixture.
8)Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees F.

SERVING
9)Make a wholesome main course dish.
