Pork and Apple Casserole
|Water||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Sugar||2 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Diced cooked pork||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Powdered cinnamon||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Fine dry bread crumbs||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine /shortening /drippings||2 Tablespoon|
1. Start oven, set at Moderate, 375° F. Rub a 1 1/2-quart casserole with margarine or butter.
2. Wash, pare, core and slice the apples. Add the water to them in a saucepan. Cover and cook 10 minutes, or until they are tender. Add sugar and stir. Let cool a few minutes.
3. Brown the pork in 1 tablespoon of butter or other fat.
4. Arrange half of the meat in the bottom of the casserole and sprinkle with some of the salt. Add 1/2 the applesauce, sprinkling it with cinnamon. Repeat, using all the ingredients. Top with fine bread crumbs, dot with the rest of the butter.
5. Bake about 30 minutes.
