Cereal Cheese Casserole
|Thinly sliced onions||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped fresh tomatoes||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Cayenne pepper||1⁄2 Dash (Speck)|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Brown wholegrain farina||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Boiling water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Processed american cheddar cheese||1⁄4 Pound, grated to make 1 cup|
Cook onions in butter until tender.
Then cover and simmer for 10 min.
Add 1/2 teasp salt, cayenne pepper, and Worcestershire.
Meanwhile, cook the farina in boiling water with remaining 1 1/2 teasp salt 3-5 min..
Then arrange alternate layers of the cereal, tomato mixture, and cheese in a 1 qt.
greased or oiled casserole with cheese as top layer Bake in a moderately hot oven of 400°F for 20 min.
Place under the broiler until top is golden brown.
