Jarrett's Beef Casserole
|Streaky rashers||1⁄4 Pound|
|Brown stock||1 Pint|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Tablespoon|
|Beef dripping||1 Ounce|
Cut the steak into small strips.
Put each strip on a rasher and roll them up together.
Put the rolls into a casserole.
Cover with gravy made from stock thickened with beef dripping and flour.
Add the Worcester sauce and criss cross the dish with celery before pouring the gravy into the casserole.
Season with black pepper, and just a little salt.
The bacon may make this dish salt enough.
Onions, carrots, leeks, etc., can be put in, too.
It will take at least 2 hours in a slowish oven.
