Sweet And Sour Pea Pods And Carrots
|Fresh snow peas/1 package (6 ounces) frozen snow peas, thawed||2 Cup (32 tbs), thawed|
|Non stick cooking spray||1|
|Orange juice||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Bottled sweet and sour sauce||1 Tablespoon|
|Aniseed||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Carrots||3 Medium, cut into julienne strips|
|Green onions||4 , bias sliced into 1" pieces|
If using fresh snow peas, remove the ends and strings.
In a small bowl, combine the orange juice, sweet-and-sour sauce, cornstarch and aniseed; set aside.
Spray an unheated large skillet with no-stick spray.
Heat the skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the carrots.
Cook and stir for 4 minutes.
Add the fresh or thawed snow peas and onions.
Cook and stir for 1 to 2 minutes more or until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
Stir in the orange juice mixture.
Cook and stir until the mixture thickens and begins to gently boil.
Cook and stir for 2 minutes more.
